Plastic Office Building

Recycled plastic and laser-cut shading

A model office building made from recycled plastic, wood, and cardstock. The patterned walls reuse a Ferrero Rocher box, while laser-cut cardstock forms a sunshade around an outdoor seating area.

Office-building model with transparent triangular-patterned plastic walls, a curved clear roof canopy, and a laser-cut white cardstock screen surrounding an outdoor seating area.

Developing the sunshade

I drew the pattern in Photoshop and laser-cut it from cardstock. The screen was inspired by buildings such as the Al Bahar towers in Abu Dhabi. A curved piece of plastic forms a rain cover for the roof, while a white cardstock form draws the eye toward the center of the building.
