Bubble Spoon

A study in form, balance, and hand fabrication

A hand-fabricated spoon brings a cluster of reflective domes into balance with a long, tapered handle. Each element began as sheet silver, then was cut, formed, and soldered into the finished object.

From sheet to spoon

The bowl is assembled from individual domes; three hollow spheres form the neck. An internal air channel connects these closed forms to the handle. Copper trials helped refine the handle’s taper and the forming process before returning to silver.
